Command-line grafitti isn't as bad as you'd think - and it beats carrying a laptop to do the same thing. They usually use a command-line, so you type the command, then send it. If I really had to be 100% on call, I'd look at one of those IBM Workpad Z50s. 10 hour battery life, 2 1/2 pounds, Windows CE Pro, nice keyboard.
